Press release
The Danish Contribution to the International Architecture Biennale in Venice opened for the press and invited guests on Saturday the 7th of September, 2002, at 1pm at the Danish Pavilion in the Gardini di Castello in Venice. The exhibition opened to the public on Sunday September 8th at 10am.
The Danish Exhibition was a cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Fonden Realdania (Danish Foundation for the Built Environment), and the city of Copenhagen.
Copenhagen X was the secretariat for the exhibition, which presented five extraordinary projects that will have great impact on the development of the Capital of Denmark over the coming years.
The five projects are:

1. Henning Larsen’s - IT University of Copenhagen

2. Bjørn Nørgaard and Boldsen + Holm’s housing project - Bispebjerg Bakke

3. Force4’s new housing type - BOASE

4. Knud Fladeland Nielsen’s art building of the future - Hotel Pro Forma

5. Jean Nouvel’s - Concert Hall for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation

The development of Denmark’s Capital is the frame for the exhibition, which defines Copenhagen’s changing face; past, present, and future.

The projects will place Copenhagen on the architectural map of the world, and set the future of urban living in the context of NEXT, this year’s Biennale theme.
